Hello! I am also a decendant of Aaron Kidd, by way of Sherrod b. 1783. If I have my facts straight, (with the help of postings from Sandra Kidd), Wm. Kidd and Elizabeth Nethercoat(e) had Thomas who immigrated to Middlesex Co. VA in the 1640's. He fathered William of Middlesex Co. who fathered Aaron Kidd of Albemarle Co. who fathered William Kidd of Tazewell Co. born abt. 1750 who fathered 7 children. Sherrod, being one of them, is my gggg grandfather. Sandra's ancestor, Elijah, is Sherrod's brother. As for Sherrod's decendents down to me...
Sherrod and wife, Polly had a son named David Kidd b. 1814 and died 1878, buried Bethel Church Cemetery Pine Knot, Ky.
David and wife, Jane Ball, had a son Jesse M. Kidd b. 1853 in Whitley City, McCreary Co. KY who married more than once. 1st wife, Hannah Ball and 2nd wife, my g grand-mother, Nancy Jane Cox. He had 6 children in total with my grandfather, Clarence being one of them. By the way, Jesse and his wife, Nancy, died when their home was destroyed by fire and they are also buried at Bethel Church Cemetery in McCreary County, KY. Clarence Kidd, my grandfather met Flora Bell Deaton in Whitley City and had 8 children, my father Roy Kidd is their 3rd child, b. 1934 and is still living. Elias Henderson Kidd was the son of David Kidd (ca 1814-ca 1878) and Jane Ball (ca 1815-ca 1894), said to be the daughter of Willliam Ball, Sr. and Charlotte May. David Kidd was the son of Sherrod Kidd and wife Mary (maiden name unknown). Sherrod migrated to Kentucky in the early 1800s from Tazewell Co, VA, along with his brothers Larkin and Elias Kidd. Their father was William Kidd, the southwest Virginia pioneer (other proven children were Elijah, Deborah, Isabell, and Frances). William Kidd was the son of Aaron Kidd of Albemarle Co, VA, and his wife Susannah. Aaron Kidd was the son of William Kidd of Middlesex Co, VA, and his wife Margaret. This William Kidd was the son of Thomas Kidd, this family line's first ancestor in Virginia.
